Few more pics from Uncle Geoff's visit...

Taking advantage of the mild weather and going on a hike.

Pinecone message we stumbled upon.

Here is my obligatory shot when someone visiting leaves us. I don't know why I wait until the last minute. The kids never seem to be in the "picture taking" mood. At least Uncle Geoff looks happy! Thanks for everything G. Come back and visit us soon! xox

Celebrate the Season

Merry Christmas from our family to yours! We were very happy to have Uncle Geoff visiting with us this year. Not a white Christmas, as the temps were mild and in the low 50's over the weekend. Opening presents was an all day event so we took a break and walked to the park mid morning. Avery seemed to understand and have more fun this year but Halen opened about two presents and was done. Santa did bring the two things Avery asked for - a telescope and a shovel (?!) She is really into going on adventures these days. Halen on the other hand, is really into throwing anything he can into the garbage can. At least he was a good helper when it came time to clean up the wrapping paper!

Stocking time

The beloved telescope.

Are you ready for some football? I call him our little linebacker because he's eating us out of house and home.

Wow, Santa even threw in a pair of binoculars with the telescope!

On the way to the park we stopped to watch all of these geese and became a little obsessed with trying to figure out their flight patterns and where they were going. (no alcohol involved, really!) Chris gave me a new lens for my camera and Geoff took this shot. He was giving me tips on panning.

Halen has discovered the slide. Can't even tell you how many times he went down it. Over and over and over...

Owl be home for Christmas...

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Uncle Geoff arrvied yesterday. Home sweet home in CO for Christmas this year. Took Avery ice skating for the first time this afternoon. She loved it. Her words: "Mom, I like this, it's fun". She did great! Lots of fun had by all. Now, Pecko our elf on the shelf is put away until next year, kids sleeping, cookies out for Santa, watching A Christmas Story and just waiting for the big day. Merry Christmas!

RIP Duncan Apr 1998 - Dec 2010

A week ago today we lost our beloved Duncan. He had been battling cancer for a while and decided it was time. We had almost 13 great years together. We miss you sooo much D! I could go crazy and post gobbs of pictures of the sweet guy but here are a few of my favs...

Gran-Mary took this one just last month. He loved the snow. Just chillin' in our backyard.

Big Sur, CA. The lucky guy made it to both coasts.

Snowshoeing and playing in the snow around Wolf Creek.
Backpacking around the Maroon Bells. This was day one of a seven day trip. He was exhausted!

Snowshoeing in Steamboat Springs.

Enjoying the sun, surf and sand on Cape Hatteras, NC.

Cooling off after a hike.

Somewhere in the mountains. His favorite place.

Video: Avery speed singing

She knows all of the words to Frosty but wanted to sing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Here she is singing most of the lyrics...

Video: Halen walking

The little guy is finally walking. He was on a roll until that dang box got in the way!
