Gran-Mary's visit over Labor Day weekend

We had a wonderful visit with Gran-Mary over Labor Day weekend. She attended a yoga conference in Estes Park (Rocky Mtn National Park) for a couple of days. Dropping her off early Saturday morning and picking her up Sunday afternoon we did our own exploring around the park. Nice end to summer...

Playing in the backyard.Swarmed by ducks before heading into RMNP (at a coffee joint). Bear Lake. Halen loved throwing rocks into the water. Made it around Bear Lake!

Sunday hiking around Sprague Lake in RMNP after picking up Gran-Mary.

Love this shot with Avery holding her magnifying glass.

OBX 2011

We enjoyed a week at the beach in the outer banks of North Carolina with my family. As all vacations go, it seemed to go by much to quickly. We were lucky to have missed hurricane Irene by one week. Barefoot bliss indeed...

Our home for the week.

Sunday 8/14. Avery's first time in the ocean. She was excited!

Monday 8/15. My beautiful niece Anna. The pics below were taken from the "campground" beach. You need 4 wheel drive to drive out onto the beach. Frankie and Avery were crazy boogie boarders.Tommy, Anna and Halen.Wiped out.Surfer kids Payal and Geoff

Celebrating Avery's 4th birthday.

The Next Bullinger Gang.

Tuesday 8/16. Ferry to Ocracoke Island.

My daily shot of the kids. Today, Halen wasn't having it. It was so hot and humid. The kids were melting down as well as the parents. Parents being me. :)

Wednesday 8/17. We had a couple of theme nights planned. Here we are tie-dying. End results with us all in our gear at the end of this post!

Frankie. Yes, he's naked tie-dying. :)

We rented surf boards for the week. Chris and Jeff are waiting to catch a wave.

Peace, Love and Sandy Feet

Tommy and Halen showing off their teamwork skills.

One of our many beautiful sunsets.

8/18 Thursday. Av watching the surfers at Lighthouse beach.

Cape Hatteras Light House. Tallest in the U.S. Avery was very bummed she couldn't climb to the top. Just a tad too short. Next time!

Quick improptu family pic. Halen had just been taken down by a wave.

Making brownies with Payal. Chris' brother Geoff and his girlfriend also joined us for the week.

Geoff was kind enough to take family photos of everyone one night after dinner. The reason why we are in Hawaiian gear is because it was Hawaiian night. :)

Grandma B. with her grandkids.

8/19 Friday. Last day. Big waves.

The crew.

Heading back to the beach house.

Last night wearing our tie-dyes!
