The holiday weekend sort of snuck up on us so we didn't do much...which was nice. Headed down to Denver on Saturday for Taste of Colorado. We all stuffed ourselves with a variety of different foods. Avery really liked the naan. Then again, there isn't much she doesn't like these days.
On Monday we set out to hike Bear Peak. It's my favorite hike in Boulder but it's not an easy one. We got about 3/4 of the way to the top and then Miss Avery had a minor melt down. I don't blame her. She'd been in the backpack for a few hours (minus the diaper changes!) , missed her morning nap and it was her lunch time. We decided to abort, have some lunch and head back down. About half way down some hikers heading up told us they'd seen a bear a little ways back. Let's just say that was the fastest 
we've ever hiked down and the most I've ever sung Itsy Bitsy Spider. (The singing was for Avery, her favorite song and I sang it loudly to hopefully scare the bear away!)
